TFFW September Barn Sale Event Begins September 7th!

Hello, Friends!

Gail and I have just returned from a spectacular month of buying for our upcoming Fall and Holiday Barn Sale Events and cannot wait to share our discoveries with you!

Each of our acquisitions was carefully selected and is now being thoughtfully incorporated into inspired vignettes for you to discover throughout the Barn! We have thoroughly enjoyed traveling together and working with our contacts throughout France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK, to deliver the old world grace and charm you've come to expect from us here at The French Farmer's Wife.
Although we are still very busy staging and styling for next week's September Barn Sale Event, we wanted YOU to be the FIRST to see what we have in store, just for you! As the attached sneak-peek photos show, we have turned the Barn upside down and inside out, filling it from floor to ceiling with the most unique and treasured European Brocante imaginable!

It's never too early to begin your holiday shopping... So with teacher, hostess and holiday gifts in mind, we've procured all new shipments of our luxurious Triple Milled French Soaps and lotions, along with fresh French Lavender bouquets. And, of course, we have the latest issues of Jeanne d'Arc Living and Brocante Blog Magazines to add to your collections too!
Mark your calendars and invite your friends and family, because our September Barn Sale Event launches next week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 7-9 from 9AM-4PM. There will be complimentary refreshments and something new to discover for every room in your home and the garden.

Remember that August is the last month to grab your complimentary copy of the Summer issue of Seasons, O.Henry Magazine's premier Style and Design guide for the Triad. We are so proud to have been featured in this beautiful publication and are so grateful to all of you that have found us through its recommendation.
We can't wait to see you and hope you're as excited as we are for the beginning of a whole new Season of Barn Events here at The French Farmer's Wife!

Please check out our Facebook page for additional sneak-peek glimpses
into the Barn and make plans to join us, September 7-9, from 9AM-4PM.

To our friends beginning the new school year this week; whether you're a parent, student, educator or administrator... We wish you a fabulous year packed with new friends and opportunities to help you achieve every goal you set!

Always with our best wishes,
- Kathee and Gail

The French Farmer's Wife July 2017 Barn Event - July 13-15th

Hello, Friends and Happy Summer!

There’s so much excitement here at The French Farmer’s Wife, Gail and I don’t even know where to begin!

As you may know, we are featured in O.Henry Magazine's quarterly Style and Design guide, Seasons; so our phones have been (happily) blowing up with excited inquiries into our upcoming July Barn Event scheduled for July 13th-15th from 9AM-4PM.
Additionally, we’ve just unpacked our shipment of Issue 3-2017 of Brocante BlogMagazine to find it’s the French Issue! Furthermore, with Bastille Day being celebrated during the middle of our Barn Event weekend, Friday July 14th, it truly does feel like Christmas in July… Without all that tacky tinsel, of course!
As is normally our practice on our Facebook page, to highlight certain aspects of our inventory during the weeks leading up to our Barn Events, today we’d like to share with you a bit about why Brocante Blog Magazine is such a must-have for fellow seekers of vintage. First, like Jeanne d'ArcLiving, Brocante Blog Magazine isn’t available for subscription to the United States; however, we stock (import) both for you at our monthly Barn Events! Also, Brocante Blog Magazine features virtually no advertisement, which means all 130 pages of this newest issue are dedicated to bringing you the best of Brocante! Wait?! Did I just hear you say, “What is Brocante, Kathee…?” Well, Brocante, pronounced Bro-Cahnt (the e is silent) comes from the verb Brocanter, which is what Gail and I fancy ourselves, Brokers of Second-hand Goods. Some believe the word Brocante, second-hand goods, comes from the Dutch word, brok, (piece or fragment) and from the same root as Middle French, broqueur or Broker.
Regardless of how one pronounces or interprets the word, the feeling of Brocante speaks universally to the hearts and souls of those of us with a fervent appreciation for things from the past... Things just beckoning for a second chance at life as something cherished and useful in our homes and gardens.
This gorgeous magazine is such an incredible source of inspiration for vintage decorating, collecting and design that once you’ve looked through even one issue, you’ll be hooked forever. Of course, it’s still written in Dutch… However, as always, the beautiful photos, so many featuring items and collections available at The French Farmer’s Wife, speak to us regardless of their origin or language!
Love Brocante but don’t feel you know where to begin in your collecting? Do you feel as if things you buy just turn Hto clutter once you bring them home? We get it. And, that’s why Gail and I dedicate nearly a whole month between Barn Events, gathering new and unique items to create an atmosphere meant to draw you in and keep you inspired long after you return home with your purchases. It's also why we spend time with you here and on our Facebook page and Instagram feed, providing photos and descriptions you can use to recreate what you see at the Barn in your own home; adding your own flair and touches, of course!
Just a few of the many things new to the French Farmer’s Wife Brocante for July is a sweet collection of antique English ironstone butter pats. Arranged on a slab of antique Carrara marble, they instantly become a collection one imagines kept inside the pantry of a European manor house.
During our travels this month, Gail and I also procured a collection of vintage seafoam green kitchen bottles and, several antique glass inkwells from England in the most beautiful colors. Set on a cabinet or table exposed to natural light, these treasures cast a mesmerizing glow.
My most favorite find this month is a collection of charming antique clock faces. Set into a vintage pronged flower frog, an old enamelware or ironstone bowl or arranged with other objects under a glass cloche, they remind us to slow down and take extra time to cherish the people and things we hold most dear.
We hope you’ll enjoy the following sneak-peek photos of what we’re busy putting the final touches on for our July Barn Event, July 13-15th from 9AM-4PM.
